Coming soon. We’re waiting on Zapier’s approval to list New Home Buddy in their app directory. This guide shows how setup will work once it’s live.

Integrations › Zapier › Manage opens the Connect Zapier window: accept the Zapier invitation, then generate your API key. Recreated with made-up data.

Zapier links New Home Buddy to more than 8,000 other apps. Every time a new lead lands in your portal, Zapier can send it wherever you already work.

Add it to your CRM. Drop it in a Google Sheet. Text yourself. Post it to a team Slack channel. You pick.

Setup takes about five minutes and you don’t need to write any code.

What You Need

A New Home Buddy agent account on Branding Pro or Lead Gen Pro. The Zapier integration is included with both. It isn’t available on other plans, and it isn’t available to builder accounts.

A Zapier account. The free plan is enough to build a two-step Zap.

That’s it.

Step 1: Accept the Zapier Invitation

New Home Buddy’s Zapier integration is invite-only, so you’ll accept an invitation before New Home Buddy shows up in Zapier.

Log in to New Home Buddy and click Integrations in the left sidebar.

Find the Zapier card and click Manage. The Connect Zapier window opens.

Click Accept Zapier invitation. Zapier opens in a new tab. Sign in to Zapier (or create a free account) and accept the invitation.

You only need to do this once.

Step 2: Generate Your API Key

Your API key tells Zapier which New Home Buddy account to pull leads from. Treat it like a password.

Back in New Home Buddy, in the Connect Zapier window, click Generate key, then copy your new key.

Keep the tab open for the next step.

Step 3: Connect New Home Buddy in Zapier

In Zapier, click Create, then Zap.

For the trigger app, search for New Home Buddy and select it.

For the trigger event, choose New Client.

Click the Account field, then Connect a new account. Zapier opens a small window asking for your API key.

Paste the key you copied in Step 2 and click Yes, Continue.

Once the account connects, Zapier shows it in the Account field. Click Continue.

Step 4: Build Your First Zap

Click Test trigger. Zapier pulls in a recent lead from your account so you can see the data you’re working with.

No leads yet? Zapier sends sample data instead, which still works for mapping fields.

Now add what happens next. Click the + button and pick any app.

A few that agents use most:

  • Google Sheets — add each lead as a new row
  • HubSpot or kvCORE — create a contact
  • Gmail — send yourself or your team a custom alert
  • Slack — post new leads to a channel
  • SMS by Zapier — text yourself the moment a lead comes in

Map the New Home Buddy fields into that app, then click Test step to confirm it works.

When you’re happy with it, click Publish.

Your Zap only runs once it’s published. A Zap left in draft catches nothing, so check that the toggle on your Zaps list reads On.

What the New Client trigger sends

Each new lead includes:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • CreatedAt Timestamp

Generating a new API key

You can generate a new API key in New Home Buddy whenever you want. Do it right away if you think your key has been exposed.

Generating a new key immediately breaks your old one. Your Zaps will stop running until you reconnect.

After you generate a new key:

  1. Copy the new key from the Integrations page.
  2. In Zapier, open your Zap and click the Account field on the New Home Buddy step.
  3. Click Connect a new account and paste the new key.
  4. Republish the Zap.

Reconnect every Zap that uses New Home Buddy, not just one.

Troubleshooting

My Zap says the connection failed. Your API key is wrong or has been replaced. Copy a fresh key from the Integrations page and reconnect.

I can’t find New Home Buddy in Zapier. The integration is invite-only. Open Integrations › Zapier › Manage in New Home Buddy, click Accept Zapier invitation, and accept it while signed in to the same Zapier account. Then search the full name, “New Home Buddy,” with spaces.

I don’t see the Zapier card in New Home Buddy. The integration is included with Branding Pro and Lead Gen Pro. Check your plan under Billing.

Test trigger didn’t find a lead. New accounts may have no leads yet. Zapier will use sample data so you can finish building, and real leads will flow once the Zap is published.

Leads aren’t reaching my other app. Open Zap History in Zapier to see whether the Zap ran and what the error was. Confirm the Zap is turned on.
