Events Tab — Promote your division’s events across four channels

Submit a grand opening, broker happy hour, model tour, or CE class — and we’ll put it in front of thousands of agents, the entire NHB community, and our social channels. One submission. Four channels. Zero marketing campaigns to set up.

Who can submit events? Admins and Managers on divisions subscribed to NHB Sales Portal Pro. Free users see the events calendar but can’t submit. Learn more about user roles →

What the Events Tab Is

The Events tab is where every builder event in your market lives. Free users can browse the calendar to see what’s coming up. Pro subscribers get a Create Event button — the gateway to submitting and promoting your division’s events to thousands of agents and the broader NHB community.

Once an event is submitted and approved, it’s pushed across four promotion channels automatically. There’s no separate marketing campaign to set up, no PDFs to design, no email blasts to coordinate. Submit once, and we handle the distribution.

Four Promotion Channels

When your event gets approved, it’s published across all four channels at once. Here’s where it shows up.

What Qualifies as an Event

The Events tab is dedicated to builder-hosted events. Brokerage co-sponsorship is welcome and encouraged — as long as your division is one of the hosts. Here’s what’s eligible and what isn’t.

Eligible events

  • Grand openings & community launches
  • Model home tours
  • Broker breakfasts, lunches, & happy hours
  • Continuing education (CE) classes
  • Realtor preview events
  • Division open houses
  • Brokerage events your division is co-hosting

Not eligible

  • Brokerage-only events (without a builder host)
  • General real estate association events
  • Third-party conferences where the division isn’t a host
  • Industry mixers without a builder co-host
  • Events that don’t tie back to your division’s homes or community

Co-hosting a brokerage event? If your division is a co-host (sponsor, presenter, or location partner), the event is welcome. Just make that role clear in the event description so it’s positioned correctly when we promote it.

How to Submit an Event

Submitting an event takes about 3 minutes. Here’s the flow:

  1. Click Events in the left-hand menu
    • You’ll land on the Events calendar showing all upcoming events in your market. As a Pro subscriber, you’ll see a Create Event button in the top right.
  2. Click Create Event
    • The submission form opens. You’ll be asked for the basics: event name, date, time, location, type of event, division, and a description.
  3. Add the details that matter
    • Strong events have clear value propositions. Are you offering food and drinks? CE credits? A first look at a new model? An RSVP link? The more compelling the description, the more likely agents will come.
  4. Upload an event image (optional but recommended)
    • Events with eye-catching images get more click-throughs in our newsletter and on social. Use a community photo, an event flyer, or your brand mark.
  5. Submit for review
    • Click submit. Our team reviews every submission to ensure it meets our event guidelines. Most events are approved within 24–48 hours.

The Review Process

Every event goes through a quick NHB review before it’s published. We’re checking for three things:

  • Eligibility — Your division is the host or co-host (not a brokerage-only or association event)
  • Completeness — All required fields are filled, location and date are clear
  • Quality — The description gives agents enough to know what they’re signing up for

If something needs fixing, we’ll reach out. Otherwise, your event is published across all four channels typically within 24–48 hours of submission.

Submitting a recurring event series? CE classes, monthly broker happy hours, or quarterly preview events can be submitted in advance. We’ll publish them all on schedule. Email jonathan@newhomebuddy.com if you want to set up a series.

Who Sees Your Event

The Events tab is industry-facing. It’s built to drive agents and builder reps to your division’s events. Here’s exactly who sees it:

  • Real estate agents on New Home Buddy in your market
  • Other builder reps on New Home Buddy in your market
  • Newsletter subscribers — thousands of real estate agents nationwide
  • Social media followers on our Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

Important: Events are not shown to home buyers. When agents and builder reps share homes via Personal Links, Lead Gen Searches, or Client Searches, the buyers viewing those links don’t see the events tab. This keeps the buyer experience focused on home browsing — and keeps your industry events reaching the right audience.

Tips for High-Performing Events

Submitting an event is the easy part. Getting agents to actually show up takes a little more thought. Here’s what works:

WEEKLY

Submit at least 2 weeks ahead

The earlier you submit, the more newsletter cycles your event gets featured in. A grand opening submitted 4 weeks out has 4 chances to land in front of an agent’s inbox.

MONTHLY

Lead with the value, not the agenda

Bad title: “Q2 Builder Update.” Better title: “First Look: New Phase Release at Ranchstone — Lunch Included.” Tell agents exactly what they’ll get for showing up.

MONTHLY

Add CE credits when possible

If your event includes a CE class component, agents prioritize attending — they need the credits anyway. Co-host a CE-eligible session with a local instructor and watch attendance jump.

MONTHLY

Tap your top performing agents

Use your Top Performing Agents dashboard to identify the 10–20 agents already engaged with your homes. Send them a personal heads-up about your event in addition to the platform-wide promotion.

PRO TIP

Pair events with new launches

A grand opening that’s promoted alongside a new community launch generates more click-through than either would on its own. Build a 2-week event push timed to coincide with new inventory drops or fresh incentive promotions.
